Essential and Infused Oils
Essential and infused oils have many unique and beneficial properties. From lavender and eucalyptus to rosewood or tea tree, oils can help us in many ways. What is the difference between essential oils and infused oils? Essential oils are extracted, either by pressing the oils from the plant, or by cold distilling. This is a very concentrated form. “A little goes a long way” is an understatement. You normally only need a few drops into a carrier oil to be effective. Infused oils are made by placing the plant, normally the leaves, in an oil for a period of time so that the plant oils infuse into the carrier oil. This is much less concentrated, but is better for daily or routine use.
